মঙ্গল ও দীপ দুই বন্ধু। মঙ্গল দীপকে তার নিজের ভাইয়ের মতো ভালবাসত । দীপ একজন প্রতিভাবান গায়ক। দীপকে ভালো গায়ক বানানোর জন্য মঙ্গল ও তার স্ত্রী তাদের সমস্ত জিনিসপত্র বিক্রি করে দিয়েছিলেন। শহরে মঙ্গল এক প্রতারক দ্বারা প্রতারিত হয়।একদিন তারা চন্দ্রার সাথে দেখা করলেন। তিনি একজন ধনী ব্যক্তির কন্যা ছিলেন যার সঙ্গীত এবং চলচ্চিত্র লাইনে ভাল যোগাযোগ ছিল। ধীরে ধীরে, দীপ চলচ্চিত্রে গান গাওয়ার প্রস্তাব পায়। শেষ পর্যন্ত, দীপ এখন একজন বিখ্যাত গায়ক হয়ে ওঠেন ।খুব অল্প সময়ের মধ্যে দীপ খ্যাতি, টাকা সবই পেয়ে যান। এমতাবস্থায় চন্দ্রার ভাই সুনীল মঙ্গল ও দীপের মধ্যে কিছু ভুল বোঝাবুঝি সৃষ্টির চেষ্টা করেন। ফলে মঙ্গল দীপের সঙ্গ  ত্যাগ করে প্রচণ্ড দারিদ্র্যের মধ্যে বসবাস করতে থাকেন। শেষে দীপ  চন্দ্রার ভাই সুনীল  ষড়যন্ত্রের কথা জানতে পেরে তার মঙ্গল দাকে ফিরিয়ে আনার আপ্রাণ চেষ্টা করে। দীপ যখন তার গ্রামের নবগ্রামে গান গাইছিল তখন সে মঙ্গলকে খুঁজে পায় এবং তারা একসাথে থাকতে শুরু করে।
